Here are just some of the stats on mental health in the UK:
Male suicide
Around three-quarters of registered deaths in 2019 were among men (4,303 deaths), which follows a consistent trend back to the mid-1990s.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder
This condition affects as many as 12 in every 1,000 people from young children to adults, regardless of gender, social or cultural background.

Mental health referrals
Figures collected by the BBC Shared Data Unit show that nearly 300,000 referrals were made in March 2021, a rise of 19% from the same time the previous year.
